首席指揮者ピエタリ・インキネンよりメッセージ

親愛なる皆様へ

　皆様に再びとても残念なお知らせをしなければならないことに胸が張り裂けそうです。世界中でいまだ猛威を振るう感染症のため、このたびもまたお会いすることが出来なくなってしまいました。私が日本に行くことをどれほど楽しみにしていたか、お伝えするまでもないほどです。何と長く留守をしてしまったことでしょう！ようやく日本に戻り春シーズンの幕を開け、私たちの誇る首席奏者 杉原由希子のソロでシュトラウスのオーボエ協奏曲を演奏することができると、どれほど心待ちにしていたか知れません。
　それが叶わなくなってしまった今、ただひとえに、ワクチン接種が世界中に展開されるなどの多種多様な対策が成功し、次の5月の予定が実現できるよう願うばかりです。私の最大の願いは、皆様と一緒に再び音楽を創り上げることに他ならないのですから。その実現の日まで、みなさまのご健康を心よりお祈り申し上げます。

To my dear friends, the audience of the JPO,

It is with great sadness that I am yet again faced with the devastating news that we are prevented from seeing each other by the ongoing global pandemic situation. Needless to say, I was very much looking forward to finally making it to Japan after such a long absence.  I was so looking forward to the commencement of the spring season, and to finally performing the Strauss Oboe Concerto with our own principal, Yukiko SUGIHARA.
I can only hope that all the different measures, alongside the vaccination roll-out world-wide, will soon have a significant impact and allow our next planned meeting to take place in May.  It is my greatest wish to make music with you again. In the meantime, I send my warmest wishes and good health to all.
